Casa Grande Holidays - Substantial 8-bedroom villa (sleeps 22) located in the heart of São Martinho do Porto with heated pool

 

Nosu avons passé d'excellents vacances à la Casa Grande. Chacun avais sa chambre et nous avions beaucoup de salles de bains. Nous avons pu recevoir des amis dans le patio, nous étions 17 sans problème. Le petit village est très mignon et sa baie est très belle. Je recommande.

Mooie ruime woning, eigen zwembad, buitenkeuken met BBQ, tafeltennistafel en pooltafel waren erg in trek. Strand is dichtbij.

 

 

Just returned from a fabulous hen party at the villa. Plenty of room for 18 of us though we did spend most of the long weekend around the pool. Had lovely meals at Boca du Mar and Grande. Fully recommend. Everything we needed at the villa, just a little difficulty with the ovens. It is a super place to stay and it's great, as a hen group, (age from 22 to 75!) we were allowed the let. Rental retreats were on hand for all transfers for our day out and to and from airport. Our driver was brilliant and always punctual. Thank you to everyone it was a brilliant stay.

Me and my friends had a wonderful stay. The villa was stunning, pictures don't show it's true beauty. The villa has all you could need and is close to lots of fantastic restaurants. The pool and outdoors activities were amazing. The villa is so clean and spacious. Highly recommend.

I'm just back from spending a week here with the girls and honestly had the best time ever. The house is absolutely beautiful and so immaculate - the pictures are amazing but don't do justice!! The pool area is also beautiful and relaxed and there are plenty of things to do - hot tub, pool table, dart board etc. It's an easy 10 min walk to the lift (which has breathtaking views) which takes you down to the town/beach front. It's not a strong tourist area (which is a nice change), but there are plenty of restaurants and cafes/bars and the place has such a great vibe. There is also a lovely little cafe across the road from the villa which has the best toast and cakes/pastries. I was sad to leave and would definitely recommend!!! It feels like a home from home and I would love to come back here in the future. Thanks for having us!! X

Villa is so nice !! Group of 15 men strong on a stag weekend .. you can't find a fault with the place everything you need . Pool , hot tub , out side bar / Kicthen , pool table it's great .. inside the house is massive clean and well look after by , Jenny and John which are two great people the run the villa and look after it , they go out the way to help you with transfer and any help you need very nice people ... the town and beach is a short walk with a nice beach and great restraints and ice-cream places ... would defo recommend and would go back for another stay ... thanks Casa grande for a great stag weekend ������������

Had an amazing time at villa casa grande, there were 10 adults and 5 kids. The villa was equipped with everything you could ask for, the pool area was lovely, the hot tub was also great. The outside kitchen with the bbq and fridge to keep the beers cold was probably one of the best things about the villa where we could all cook and eat together. Sao Martinho is a beautiful resort, very traditional. Only a 10 min walk down to the beach and the many cafe bars and restaurants. It is quite hilly but had an elevator to take you up and down to the restaurants and beach instead of having to climb the very steep hill, excellent idea. All in all we all thoroughly enjoyed staying at the villa and resort, would definitely recommend it, we would all definitely go back

The place is great, well stocked, with all sorts of games, there is a hot tub that's not shown in the pictures, we went with 21 people, (6 kids), they had a blast. There are loads of restaurants and small bars at the beach. It's a hilly walk up and down to the beach and supermarkets, but only takes 5 or 10 mins.... there's not a lot of activities this time of year. If your after a nice quiet break, this place is ideal. I would definately book again.

My family and I have just come back from this amazing villa. There is so much space for a large group. There is a wonderful Jacuzzi too, 4 bikes, darts board, bbq, pool table, table football, table tennis table and a big pool with a shallow and a deep side. There are at least 9 sun loungers! Across the road from the house there is a lovely bakery which is very reasonable price wise. Lovely town where lots of Portuguese people holiday, so you won't hear loads of UK voices.

We have just returned from a family holiday here,there were 17 of us including 5 children and there was plenty of room for everyone,the location was perfect we could walk to the beach and the town,I would definitely recommend this villa for a large family.

Avons passé un très beau séjour. Jessica très accueillante. Température extérieure basse (la faute à pas de chance!) mais la piscine chauffée et le jaccuzi ont été très appréciés par tous. Maison spacieuse et agréable.

location superbe à tous points de vue pour une grande famille, nous étions 15, le nombre de chambres(8), le nombre de salle de bains et wc (5) les jeux pour tous (pingpong, billard, babyfoot,) la piscine, le jacuzzi, les coins barbecue (2), les espaces éxterieurs (tables et coin salon détente)

I stayed for 4 days in S. martinho with my political family (all of them). Because of this I had some pressure to make sure everything went smoothly and they enjoyed the stay. Thanks to Ana Oliveira, Antony Masters and Jessica (that showed everything and stayed late due to our delay on the trip) the stay was memorable...the house is fantastic. Everything is at your disposal, very clean and I think it is rare to find such a house that can fit more than 25 people. The communication to make the reservation was perfect. They would answer me back almost instantly and solved all my questions. Without a doubt will be renting it again with my family. Thank you for such a perfect vacation

We stayed in this beautiful villa for a week as a party of 12 and had a fabulous time! The villa completely exceeded all of our expectations and is so much bigger than imagined. The pictures really do not do this place justice and the facilities are fantastic! Plenty of sunbeds around the heated pool, a gorgeous hot tub (which we spent most of our time in, day and night) and lots of entertainment such as a pool table, darts, ping pong table, football table etc and even Netflix! The villa was super clean and all the rooms are very spacious, meaning you do not feel like you are on top of eachother when in a large group. It is situated in a great location, just a short walk to the beach and restaurants, with two supermarkets nearby where you can get pretty much everything you need. Not to forget the little café literally opposite which sells tasty pastries, toasties, and even beer would you believe! We had a couple of nights eating out and a couple of nights staying in where we cooked using the outdoor BBQ and sat in the cosy seating area by the pool making cocktails. All in all we had an amazing holiday and I would highly recommend to any age group looking for a chilled out or fun-filled holiday in a private villa!

We stayed here for just under a week 6 couples & 1 child. Everyone loved it and could not believe how big & beautiful with villa was (pictures just dont do it justice) ! Very spacious pool area with plenty sun loungers for everyone. Everything you need is in the villa washing machine, dryer, fully equipt kitchen x2, iron & ironing board, bbq & pizza oven area, hottub, pool table, ping pong, darts board, table football, wifi, tvs, dvds, games and a few large dining tables inside and outside. There is a large supermarket just down the street that has everything you will need. Also the cafe across the road is a must they do the best ham & cheese toasties and cakes and is very cheap. Great owner & housekeeper for any questions you may need to ask. We will definately be returning in the future. 5* :)

Amazing holiday with 12 friends and a 2 year old :) Fabulous huge villa, plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms. Even better than the pictures! Close to a gorgeous beach and plenty of restaurants, we spent most the time in the villa with all the activities and games but mainly the hot tub! Super clean and perfect location. The cafe straight opposite the villa is an added bonus such good toasties and coffee and is so cheap! Will be booking up soon for next year! Really recommend to any age group and the larger the group the better the holiday! :)

We booked a couples holiday for 12. It's a massive villa so we weren't all on top of each other-even bigger than the pics. Plenty of space to prepare food should you want to stay in but also in walking distance of some nice restaurants and cafes. There was plenty to do in the villa to keep us all entertained (we even had a games torunament)- pool table, football table, ping pong, darts, hot tub, pool, games console and some dvds! Pizza oven and BBQ for food too! Fab week in the sun and easy to contact jess should you need any info!

We went to this villa for my hen do and it exceeded all of our expectations. There was 18 women and it suited us perfectly. It was so much fun, clean it is absolutely huge. The owner and manager were very helpful to my sister who organised the trip for us. They recommended amazing restaurants. The villa is a beautiful 5 minute walk from a sandy beach. Close to two supermarkets. The pool is great and not cold at all. There are so many games and activities in the villa you are never bored. Amazing villa, amazing time, great host.

We were warmly met by Jesicca at the property who showed us around. The property was exactly what we wanted and in a great location. It was nice and clean and everything was provided for. We even had the log fire on one evening when there was a slight chill in the air. There is a great coffee shop just across the road which we frequented many times. The beach was only 5-7 minutes walk away (there was a public lift for those who couldn't manage the steep descent near the beach). There is a small but well stocked supermarket about 5 minutes drive (15 minute walk) as well as a lovely fresh fruit and veg market only 5 mins walk away. Jessica was very helpful - she always answered any queries we had (one person got stuck in the bathroom as the lock failed - Jessica got someone in to sort it out shortly after). We would certainly recommend this villa for large groups of people.

Sao Martino do Porto est une jolie petite ville. La maison est à 5 mm du marché fruits-légumes-poissons qui a lieu tous les jours. A pied, 12 mn de la plage ( une des plus sécurisées du Portugal). Nous étions 17 personnes et avons profité un maximum du coin barbecue-four à pain, où nous avons pris tous nos repas. Les enfants ont profité de la piscine et des jeux vidéo mis à leur disposition.

Superbe location, de la place, des extérieurs sympas, avec salon, barbecue, four à pain et pizzas, piscine chauffée. Nous avons vécu une semaine dehors, dedans que la nuit. La ville et la très belle plage sont à côté. Le voisinage est agréable. Un café qui vend un peu de tout. Le marché tous les matins à quelques pas, avec du poisson de petits pêcheurs, et des fruits et légumes. Et surtout un très bon rapport qualité/prix. Nous recommandons cette location.

We were a group of 11 and the house was perfect for us - great facilities, well cleaned and maintained and so much space! The town itself is lovely, great beaches, a good local market, nice walks to do around the bay, lovely restaurants. Also all very easy without a car - in general the perfect place for a large group to relax for a week or so, we hope we can come again!

Wow what an impressive villa! It is beautifully decorated and furnished and incredibly well equipped. The kids were hardly out of the pool and we loved the bbq/darts area and we even fired up the pizza oven and had home made pizzas! It really is a fantastic property and would highly recommend it!

nous avons passés une super semaine dans cette maison , les photos sur le site sont exactement comme dans la maison , sinon plus !!! nous etions 18 nous avions chacun notre espace sans se monté dessus ! les enfants etaient content avec le tobogan de la piscine , la table de ping pong , les consoles de jeux !!! je la recomande agreablement !

When we arrived at the villa we were really taken aback by the facilities which were even better than on the pictures. There was plenty of space for everyone and the outdoor kitchen was perfect for everybody to gather in during the evening. The outdoor area was kept clean and nice with many flowers adding colour. The pool was a good size and clean and the slide added some extra fun. Inside we were surprised to find an extra large living room on the first floor in addition to the 2 kitchens and living spaces and there were more than enough bathrooms over the 3 floors. The customer service was excellent from booking to check-in and check-out. Our only small criticism of the property would be the downstairs kitchen cupboards which were a little musty and not finished as well as the first floor kitchen but other than that this is a fabulous villa that we would not hesitate to return to!

We (10 adults) had a wonderful stay in Sao Martinho do Porto Everything in Casa Grande 8 was even better as it is in the pictures! Very big, sunny and fully equipped house. The bedrooms, living room and bathrooms are spacious, comfortable and very, very clean! The location is perfect to explore the whole Nord Portugal. Friendly welcome and very helpful owner - we received all necessary infos A very good choice overall! I would highly recommend this villa!

We stayed here with family (10 adults, 5 children under 5 yrs old). The property is outstanding. It's large so you aren't living in top of each other with lots of bathrooms. It has an amazing range of facilities including wifi. The outdoor area is great with a BBQ & pizza oven. The addition of the new pool has vastly improved the property. We could see that it wouldn't gave been as good with the small pool only. One word of warning is that the new pool is deep & with no fence around it, young children must be carefully supervised at all times. It's approx one hour from Lisbon & easy to get to. Walking distance to San Martinho. Overall, we'd definitely recommend a stay here.

What a fantastic place to stay! We stayed at this beautiful villa when we visited Portugal in August. The owner has thought of everything you will possibly need and more . It is exceptionally well furnished and is immaculately clean from top to bottom. The accommodation is private and has great outdoor spaces for entertaining both night and day. The villa is perfectly located for all the local amenities which are just a short walk away and include a selection of restaurants, bars and a lovely beach. There is also a great little bakery opposite and a supermarket just a short walk away. I would love to return back to this fantastic holiday location and would highly recommend to anyone who wishes to stay!

We had a fantastic holiday in Sao Martinho!! There were 15 of us staying at Casa Grande and we were all incredibly impressed by the property. The owner has really gone all out to make sure that everything you could possibly need was there. The 2 kitchens are really well equipped as is the outdoor kitchen/barbecue area and both living rooms have games consoles, sky TV and a good selection of DVD's which came in very handy with the kids. The outdoor swimming pool is great and large enough for big groups. All the bedrooms are a great size and great attention to detail has been provided in the furnishing of the rooms. The town itself is lovely, just a short walk away to the beautiful beach and many restaurants. There is also a large supermarket within walking distance. There are many beautiful towns nearby which you can go to on public transport. We did a few day trips, visiting Nazare, Lisbon and Alcobaca. I would highly recommend this property - you will not be disappointed. The service provided by Antony Masters was exceptional - he quickly answered any questions I had and when I needed to change the date of our holiday he was very accommodating.

We recently stopped at this fantastic villa with family and friends and had a wonderful holiday. The villa itself was amazing we would go as far to say it has the highest standards and amities than any other we have stayed in. The villa was very large, giving you plenty of space so even being in a group you didn't feel on top of each other when you want some alone time, yet the BBQ area and additional large outside seating and communal areas were perfect for friendly and relaxed social gatherings during the day and evenings. The owners have gone that extra mile to supply basically anything you could possibly need during your holiday. The game consoles and activity items were a great bonus and helped keep the children amused when the adults want some down time in the evening. Plus the pools were amazing and the kids loved being in there and so did the adults. The local town and beach is very nice, the beach was clean and great for the kids, there were plenty of cafés and restaurants to choose from and the locals are very friendly and helpful. We don't normal holiday in the same villa on return trips to anywhere but this villa is a keeper we will definitely return as couldn't complain about anything, we would recommend this beautiful villa to everyone, we already have to our other friends.

This villa has exactly what you need for a large group to stay! My only regret is not booking for more than a week! We stayed in this villa early August with our extended family, It was a great experience all round and we are thinking of booking for next year! The facilities throughout have everything you need for family members of all ages whether is be Sky TV to catch up on sport or the swimming pool for the children, The walk down to the town & getting into the glass lift to make your way to the shops & restaurants makes everything easy to access. Please make sure you visit the café straight opposite the villa too for some very special breakfast toast.. you will know what I mean once you try it. Enjoy :)

This villa is fantastic! 14 of us (all just finished uni) stayed, and the villa was so huge that it never felt cramped. Everything was very clean and nicely decorated, with literally everything you could need for a holiday. The new pool was a bonus too - just finished when we arrived, it was ideal for the sunny days. The outdoor barbecue was well-used too. Sao Martinho is a quiet town - I'm not sure there'd be a great amount for families with small children, but the beach is huge, and being in a bay means that the waves aren't too strong. We did plenty of walking around the bay, and a day trip to Obidos. Lots of decent restaurants around too. Antony at Rental Retreats was super helpful, answering every question we had. The price was excellent value too, saving a lot of money on more "traditional" tourist destinations like the Algarve. I can thoroughly recommend Casa Grande!

I booked this villa back in January for a party of 18 and from the start the communication was brilliant. Antony answered all of my questions promptly and shared information regarding the local area and things to do whilst in Sao Martinho Do Porto. I must admit I was a little worried there had been no previous reviews on trip advisor but as soon as I arrived that was quickly put to bed! The villa itself is beautiful! The photographs really do not do it justice and you need to see it to truly take in the amount of attention that has gone in to making it a wonderful holiday home. The furniture is modern and clean, the pool is large enough for everyone, and there is plenty of outside seating areas plus two BBQ's if you book the whole villa. There are towels to use and spare suntan lotion if you haven't managed to bring anything. English TV channels and plenty of books if you wish to get out of the sun for a little while. There are plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms and being a party of 18 girls I was worried we would be fighting over the use of the showers but this didn't happen at all! There is a large supermarket in walking distance where you are able to get everything you need. There is also a daily morning market in walking distance. For ice creams, coffees, snacks and water there is a cafe across the road. The walk to the beach is downhill and you will pass the pharmacy and other small shops and cafes on the way. The beach itself is beautiful! Soft sand and no rubbish in sight; the sea is a little cold but I'm sure that will be a god send after sitting out in the sun for a while. Most people appear to be from Portugal and I saw very few English people. Every single person in my party had a lovely break away and it was all made even better by the villa! I would definitely recommend everyone to visit this place. Sao Martinho's best kept secret!
