There are some beautiful cobbled, pedestrian only streets surrounding the religious square. Many cafes in the old town serve quite a variety of dishes due to the high concentration of people that arrive to worship and different times of the year. The Santa Cruz Cafe is all about location. It dominates a huge corner lot with two stories of indoor/outdoor dining making it the perfect place for people watching. For a casual family style meal, and possibly some fado music depending on the night, Lanterna do Fado is a popular choice. The oven roasted chicken is highly recommended by all and the prices are something to celebrate.
