We stayed at the Beacon aprt for 2 weeks in August with 2 children and no car. The apartment was even better than we expected, an en-suite which we didn't realise we had and it was incredibly spacious, perfect for the 4 of us. Kitchen well equipped with everything you would need. Outside the apartment was a beautiful little garden which was perfect for the kids to go an play and the nearest pool was a few metres away. The view from the patio down to the beach was amazing much more than shown in the photos. A quite complex which suited us perfectly and never an issue getting a sunbed by the pool. We didn't hire a car so the walk up and down to the beach was tiring, its not far but a couple of steep parts. However it did help to burn of the calories from the ice cream! Just above the apartment is the highest point in the bay and the view is beautiful, there is also the little land train from the beach that goes to the top so on occasion with have used this and got off at the top to walk to the apartment. Filipe and his wife meet us on arrival and were lovely, we had 1 small issue later on in the week but a quick message to him and he came out to use straight away. Always a wave and a smile if we saw them on the complex. We used Nelson's taxi service for airport transfer, who very helpful and on time. In the bay we Luis taxi service from the supermarket and again really helpful.
