DIRECTIONS FROM LISBON AIRPORT

NOTE: You will come across some road tolls. You must stop at them all! Do not go through the green lane as this is for cars that have pre-paid. When you get to the first one just touch the silver button and a card will come out. Keep that card until you get to the next one where you will need to stop again and pay the attendant.

If you get lost in Lisbon

If you get lost and can't see any signs for the A1 NORTE then follow signs to PORTO or ALVERCA as this is in
the right direction and should get you onto the E1 / E80 / A1 NORTE / IP1 OESTE.

-Once on the A1 NORTE continue for about 60 minutes (93 kms) until you reach junction 7.

- At Junction 7 you leave the A1 NORTE and take A23 for 17Km.

- Take the exit towards TOMAR (A13/IC3).

- Continue along IC3 and then take the exit turning right to Ferreira do Zêzere N238.

- At the entrance of Ferreira do Zêzere there is a roundabout with a sign pointing to Castelo Branco/Sertã/Dornes.

- Continue along N238

- After passing Águas Belas, Bela Vista and Besteiras turn left to Paio Mendes and follow the signs through to Dornes (3Km).

- When you reach DORNES call Teresa. She will guide you to the house and meet you there.

CHECK-IN

You can check-in after 16:00.

Please be aware that the property manager is organising her day according to the expected arrival times that she is given. If you find that you are delayed or that there are any changes to your arrival time, please be sure to get in touch with the property manager by phone or SMS. This will help to ensure that you are met on arrival without any problems.

If other guests are using the apartment on the day that you arrive, you can check-in after 16:00, however, if you wish, you may leave your luggage at the property, while the cleaners finish preparing it for you. If no other guests have used the property on the day that you arrive you can access the property at an earlier time. Please contact the property manager, so she can tell you the time you be will able to access the apartment.

YOUR DEPARTURE

The day of your departure, you will need to leave the apartment by 10:00 am.

Before leaving the property, please:

Place the keys on top of the dining table
Clean your dishes and remove waste from the property.
Close and latch all windows and doors.
Turn off all lights, and TV
Double check to confirm you don't leave any personal belongings behind

INSIDE THE PROPERTY

The property should be clean with clean bedding on the beds and clean towels. If you find anything not to your satisfaction please inform the property manager as soon as possible after your arrival.

Make yourself at home! The property has been well equipped in order to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Please have a good look around, open up the cupboards, drawers and wardrobes so that you know exactly what is in the apartment.

EMERGENCY SITUATIONS

Fuse Box

The fuse box is found inside the house just behind the first portrait hanging in the wall left to the entrance door.

Warning: As everything works on electricity it may happen that an overcharge occurs when the air conditioning system, hot water and the oven are being used at the same time.

Safety Equipment

Please ensure that you become familiar with where the fire extinguisher, fire blanket and First-Aid kit are located, in case needed.

Water Leak
If you have a leak of water then please turn the mains stopcock off and call Teresa. The main control for the water is found just outside of the villa.

Bins

Please see the map below showing the location of the bins for your waste:

Breakages

We understand if everyday items such as glasses, plates etc., may get accidentally broken. Please leave a note detailing any broken items so that they can be replaced for the next guest.

Door & Locks

Never leave a key in the lock on the inside of the front door. If a key is left in the lock on the inside of the front door, it will not be possible to open the door with another key.

When going out for long periods of time, please make sure you secure the villa by locking doors and windows.

Drains

To ensure that the drains do not become blocked, please dispose of nappies, sanitary towels and cleaning wipes with the general household waste.

Heating/Cooling
Please feel free to use the air conditioning system when necessary.

Shutters

There are shutters on all windows. We recommend you leave these shut in the day if you are out so the property remains secure and cool.

Smoking

The property is strictly NON-SMOKING and we ask our guests to respect this policy. Please feel free to smoke outside, but please be responsible when disposing of cigarette ends. Also, take care when smoking near open windows. Due to the extra cleaning and ventilation required, there is a € 100 charge for smoking in the house.

Spillages

Please be quick to clean up any spillages to help prevent damage.

Wi-Fi

The information about the network and password for the wifi can be found inside the property.

- Dornes has 23 inhabitants and just a modest bar/restaurant "Fonte de Cima" at the entrance of the village.

- A small café "Casa da Inveja" is usually open during the high season and at weekends during some festive occasions. Breakfast can be ordered (contact Dulce - Tel. +351 964 270 739).

- Pharmacy permanently open and a Health Center, can be found at the village of Frazoeira (5Kms distance from Dornes). Tel. +351 249 366 166

TOURISTIC INFORMATION

This part of Portugal is renowned for some key tourist attractions including a pentagonal tower built by the Templars; it is a unique example of its kind in Portugal. The Parish church of Dornes is the oldest Marian shrine in Portugal.
Christ Convent at Tomar (30Km from Dornes) and the Almourol Castle (50Km from Dornes) situated in the middle of the Tagus river are other significant Templar monuments nearby.

Constança, on the way to Almourol, is a picturesque village where Camões, the most important Portuguese poet, was born. We recommend the restaurant "Remédio d'Alma - Av. Forças Armadas, in Constança. Tel. +351 249 739 405

Vila de Rei, on the left side of the river Zêzere, is the geographic center of Portugal. There you can enjoy a nice view from the top of the mountain where there is a small geodesic interpretation center
