This is a wonderful 2 bedroom apartment in the heart of Marina Di Patti, just 100 metres from the beach and steps away from great restaurants. It benefits from a third floor position (penthouse) with two outdoor terraces from which to enjoy the morning and evening sun. The first bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom has a sofa bed. The lounge is a separate room.
Marina di Patti is situated in a tranquill gulf of crystal clear water, surrounded by beautiful mountainous countryside. There is a real sense of community with friendly people in a small center of fishing, boating, swimming, and water sports. You can even hang glide from the hills. The main centre is Patti Citta on the hill above (15.000 inhabitants), which has a beautiful Norman Cathedral and typical medieval streets. Patti Marina is a very attractive place, both for the beauty of its landscape and for its archeological points of interest. Directly across from Patti’s shore you can see the Aeolian Islands and you can visit these by boat. Lipari is the largest island of the Archepelago, next Vulcano, Salina, Stromboli, Panarea, Filicudi ad Alicudi.
Patti has many local points of arceological interest: (300 mt) a newly discovered site, “Villa Romana”, IV Century AD, with mosiacs; Tindari (9 Km) – a Greco-Roman archaeological site with an ancient Greek theatre (still showing classic performances from May through August,) and also the most recent discovery of an ancient street “il decumano.”
The Black Madonna resides in Tindari’s church (9 KM) and one of the best restaurants with a great ambience (and not too costly) overlooks the sea here.
Below Tindari is a nature preservation sanctuary, “Laghetti di Marinello” of salt water lakes. You can also go to the nearby Nebrodi Regional Park. If you like cities, you can visit Palermo (180 km) for local craft; Santo Stefano (45 minutes by car) for artisan made ceramics, Caltagirone (2 hours by car) for an international atmosphere, and Taormina, the most alluring famously known sea cliff town.
Cefalu (1.5 hours by car) is a charming distinctly characteristic medieval sea town. Patti is also close (less than an hour by car) from the town of San Marco D’annunzio with its twenty two churches.
