Very well appointed 2 bedroom property overlooking the sea and one of the shared pools in this popular Sao Martinho Do Porto complex. 

 

This property has it all! Overlooks the dramatic Atlantic whilst also overlooking one of the main pools so you can watch your family from your private balcony.

 

The spacious, well arranged and well appointed apartment is arranged as 2 double bedrooms on the first floor. There is also a bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath and shower over. Wireless internet access is available from the communal area and there are sunloungers around the pools.

 

The apartment has a desirable location within a popular holiday complex in Sao Martinho that is unrivalled in the town for its excellent amenities. Ideal for all members of the family, the resort offers a miniature golf course, a gym, tennis courts, 3 communal swimming pools, a small football field, a squash court, an on-site bar a pool room and reception room

How to get there

By plane

We recommend international travellers fly into Lisbon airport. A number of airlines (including budget airlines) fly direct to Lisbon from all major European destinations. You can find and compare flight prices athttp://www.skyscanner.net or download their app for your android or apple device.

Sao Martinho do Porto is and easy 1 hour drive from the airport on the A8. Taxis and transfers are available (around € 75-100), as well as a number of car hire options. We will provide detailed directions for your car journey.

Alternatively you can fly to Oporto (2.5 hour drive) or Faro (3.5 hour drive).

By train from UK to Lisbon

For Lisbon you can take the 10:23am Eurostar from London to Paris and then the 15:50 TGV service to Irún on the Spanish border. Then connect with the 22:00 overnight Sud Express to Lisbon which arrives at 11:03am the following day. The cheapest return fare is about £209 and can be booked through Spanish Rail (020 7725 7063). Please check timings as they may have changed.

From Lisbon to Sao Martinho do Porto by public transport

Coaches to Sao Martinho do Porto run several times a day from Lisbon’s Sete Rios coach terminal and the journey time is around 90 minutes. The coach station is a short taxi ride away from the airport (around € 15). Coach information and ticket sales are available at www.rede-expressos.pt

By boat from UK to Santander

 

Santander is 880km (7.5 hour drive) away from Sao Martinho do Porto on the Northern coast of Spain. It is served by 8 weekly crossings from the UK ports of Plymouth, Portsmouth and Poole. Crossings take between 20-24 hours and prices can vary considerably. http://www.aferry.co.uk has details of prices and timetables. 

About the area

 

Retaining it's Portuguese charm and character, Sao Martinho do Porto is a remarkably picturesque seaside town. The town is built around the sheltered bay that provides for safe bathing away from the strong Atlantic currents. The bay also benefits from warmer waters thanks to to its sheltered location. There are life guards on the beach during the summer and the beach is cleaned most days showing off its beautiful iridescent silver sand which is where the area gets its name. Surrounding the bay there are numerous cafes and restaurants where the majority of the food on offer is typical Portuguese (superb seafood) though there is also a very good Italian & also a Swiss restaurant along the front of the bay too. In the surrounding area a number of excellent golf courses have been built, and more are planned.


Sao Martinho do Porto enjoys an idyllic climate that tends not to reach oppressive extremes of hot or cold. Daytime temperatures mid-summer tend to range between 26ºC and 34ºC. Mid-winter daytime temperatures typically range between 14ºC and 18ºC.

 

The Silver Coast has avoided the commercialisation and overdevelopment of Portugal’s foremost tourist resorts. It’s splendour has therefore gone undetected amongst tourists from Europe, but has always been popular with the Portuguese. The exceptional, sandy beaches on the Atlantic coastline are prized by the local population and offer welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of city life.


 

As well as fantastic beaches the region is also home to some superbly preserved medieval architecture, including a UNESCO world heritage site at Sintra. Small villages and towns like Alcobaca and Nazare have retained much of their rustic charm despite the ravages of time and it is a genuinely lovely experience to spend time exploring this part of the world.
