Belle is a great villa for families or friends being located in peaceful Salir Do Porto and just 1.8km from the soft silver sands of Salir Do Porto beach - also close to Sao Martinho Do Porto- just a stroll along the bay.

The large sand dunes here and shallow waters that run from the sea inland provide for safe and sheltered bathing with lots of Sardine life activity to keep the children amused!

This villa has a wonderful outlook over a countryside valley and boats 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The bedrooms are arranged as two king sized beds in 2 of the bedrooms and two single beds in the third bedroom. There is an en-suite to the master bedroom along with two further bathrooms providing in total 2 baths and 2 showers. One of the showers has a powerful Jacuzzi shower jet.

You'll also find everything you need in the well equipped kitchen which includes a dishwasher, tumble dryer and coffee maker. All linen and towels except for pool and beach towels are provided.

Outside you have everything you need for outdoor dining in your private terrace including table, chairs, umbrella and a BBQ.

The large swimming pool (38' x 18'), sun terrace and children's playground are for the sole use of the guests staying in this closed condominium. There are also sun loungers provided which you can take to the shared pool and return at the end of the day. Aside from your private terrace there are also balconies to the lounge (at the front) and all three bedrooms to enjoy more of the sun and views.

For lazy evenings you have a real fireplace (wood fuel only) and a Satellite TV which includes English channels. You also have a DVD player with DVDs to watch at leisure.

There is ample parking directly on the street which is free of charge.

For cooler evenings there is central heating should you need it. If travelling with a small child there is a cot in the villa for your use.

How to get there

By plane

Flying to Lisbon Airport is recommended if you’re coming from outside Portugal as it is an easy drive along the A8 taking an hour to Salir Do Porto.

Alternatively you can fly to Oporto (2.5 hour drive) or Faro (3.5 hour drive).

Find and compare flight prices at: http://www.skyscanner.net/

By train from UK to Lisbon

For Lisbon, you can take the 10.23am Eurostar from London to Paris and the 15.50 TGV service to Irún on the Spanish border, which connects with the 22.00 overnight Sud Express to Lisbon, which arrives at 11.03am the following day. The cheapest return fare is about £209. Book through Spanish Rail (020 7725 7063) and please check as timings may well have changed.

From Lisbon airport by car

Hire a car from the airport if you are intending to use a car for your holiday. We will send you detailed instructions for how to get to Salir Do Porto. The journey is about an hour.

Note: You will come across some road tolls. You must stop at them all!  Do not go through the green lane as this is for cars that have pre-paid. When you get to the first one just touch the silver button and a card will come out. Keep that card until you get to the next one where you will need to stop again and pay the attendant. The first toll payment is quite a long way from where you pick up the card and will be about 5 Euros. The second one should be about 2 Euros so check you have enough cash on you.

From Lisbon to Salir Do Porto by public transport

The best way of getting to Salir Do Porto on public transport is by Taxi from Lisbon airport to the coach station and then by coach to Sao Martinho Do Porto. Get a taxi to Lisbon’s Sete Rios coach terminal (approx 15 Euros) from the airport. From there you will be able to get a coach direct to Sao Martinho Do Porto; there are several trips per day. You can find out coach times and book tickets at www.rede-expressos.pt but be aware that the website is in Portuguese and there is no English source of this information. Alternatively a taxi one way will cost 75-100 Euros typically.

Be aware that the walk along the bay from Sao Martinho Do Porto to Salir will take you about half an hour so public transport may not be the best option. Thee is a train station at both Sao Martinho Do Porto and Salir Do Porto but not many trains per day.

About the area

Salir Do Porto is a peaceful village at the other side of the bay to Sao Martinho Do Porto, therefore overlooking Sao Martinho. It benefits from a sheltered position in front of the large sand dunes that form part of the bay and therefore the calmest and warmest waters for this stretch of the Silver Coast.

In Salir Do Porto there are a handful of restaurants and bars that are very good (including a restaurant which only sells great chicken!) but if you want more choice of restaurants and bars you just need to walk along to Sao Martinho Do Porto along the wooden walkway on the beach taking about 30 minutes.

Locals in Salir and from surrounding areas make the most of a natural mineral water spring that flows from the rocks at the end of the bay and a stone wall and fountain has been built so you can take your water bottles here to get the very best mineral water for free. Locals also say it has healing powers so many use the water to bathe in too.

Also just into the forests behind Salir (past the train line) there are two large and very good restaurants. One has outdoor dining and specialises in suckling pig and the other has an array of dishes at extremely competitive prices (the dishes are huge so go easy on ordering). Here you can enjoy a great bottle of Vinho Verde for only 4 Euros. The forest atmosphere makes for a great dining experience.

It you want to be close to the beach but also in a quiet place then Salir is the right choice for you.
