This apartment is very well situated within a beautiful complex perched on the hill overlooking the Atlantic in Sao Martinho Do Porto.
There are 2 bedrooms with a double bed in each and there is also a single sofa bed suitable for a child/ young teenager in a seperate through area of the apartment.
You have very beautiful sea views from your private terrace and a view over one of the 3 pools that the complex offers.
Inside the apartment you have a lounge and dining area with real fireplace and an open plan kitchen. The owner has provided a TV, DVD player, CD player and the kitchen is fully equipped including the all important dish washer! The large family bathroom has a bath with shower over, WC, basin and bidet. For extra indulgence there are Jacuzzi jets in the bath.
You have a view over the ocean and one of the pools and the rest of the complex has an array of free activities on-site such as 2 further large pools, 2 child pools, tennis court, mini-golf, squash court, games room and gym. The complex also offers free Wi-Fi in the communal areas. You'll also find communal sunloungers for use by guests at all 3 pools.
The complex is very popular owing to its facilities yet proximity to the Sao Martinho bay which is a 10 minute walk along the coast (a very beautiful walk along the edge of the Atlantic) - about 1 km. In the summer there is a tourist train that you can take down and back up to the resort that runs frequently.
How to get there
We recommend international travellers fly into Lisbon airport. A number of airlines (including budget airlines) fly direct to Lisbon from all major European destinations. You can find and compare flight prices at http://www.skyscanner.net or download their app for your android or apple device.
Sao Martinho do Porto is and easy 1 hour drive from the airport on the A8. Taxis and transfers are available (around € 75-100), as well as a number of car hire options. We will provide detailed directions for your car journey.
Alternatively you can fly to Oporto (2.5 hour drive) or Faro (3.5 hour drive).
By train from UK to Lisbon
For Lisbon you can take the 10:23am Eurostar from London to Paris and then the 15:50 TGV service to Irún on the Spanish border. Then connect with the 22:00 overnight Sud Express to Lisbon which arrives at 11:03am the following day. The cheapest return fare is about £209 and can be booked through Spanish Rail (020 7725 7063). Please check timings as they may have changed.
From Lisbon to Sao Martinho do Porto by public transport
Coaches to Sao Martinho do Porto run several times a day from Lisbon’s Sete Rios coach terminal and the journey time is around 90 minutes. The coach station is a short taxi ride away from the airport (around € 15). Coach information and ticket sales are available at www.rede-expressos.pt
By boat from UK to Santander
Santander is 880km (7.5 hour drive) away from Sao Martinho do Porto on the Northern coast of Spain. It is served by 8 weekly crossings from the UK ports of Plymouth, Portsmouth and Poole. There is real wealth of history and there are numerous tourist attractions along the length of the Silver Coast. The apartment is ideally placed for making the most of what the Silver Coast has to offer; it is perfect if you want to spend your holiday relaxing on one of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal, or equally if you want to explore the local area. Within a short drive of the apartment you can explore the famous walled town Obidos, the renowned lagoon at Foz Do Arelho, the ancient monastery at Alcobaca, the stunning palace in Mafra and the charming traditional Portuguese town Nazare.

Please note that a final cleaning charge of €75 is applied to each holiday.
From 15 September to 15 June gas consumption is charged at a rate of € 4.27 per KW hour.
A minimum price of 1 week is applied to stays between 3-6 nights over the Christmas or New Year period.
