This is an exceptional semi-detached Villa in beauty spot high up on the coast line in between Nazare and Sao Martinho Do Porto (Serra Da Pescaria).

 

This very quiet location is ideal for guests wanting to be able to get to the action but retreat to the hills and sea views for relaxing. And you can do that on your private balconies and around the shared pools, or communal picnic area (with inbuilt BBQ). Or of course just inside the large property itself. 

 

The property itself is substantial with 3 large bedrooms, a large lounge/ dining room, its own private games room with table tennis and a secure garage for 1 car. The views from the top balconies from the lounge have a great partial sea view over the sea and coast line towards Nazare. The property spans across 3 floors. You then have panoramic sea views from the pool areas to enjoy.

 

On the ground floor you will find direct access to your private garage, a games room which houses a table tennis table and equipment and there is also a bedroom with twin beds which has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, sink and WC. 

 

On the first floor there is the master bedroom, a second bedroom and a bathroom. The master bedroom has a large balcony to the front of the property with sun loungers and features a King sized bed with en-suite bathroom with shower, WC and sink. The second bedroom has twin beds. The bathroom on this floor has a bath with shower over and a WC, and bidet.

 

The house has a great layout for enjoying the sea views as the large lounge and dining area is located on the top floor with a large balcony also furnished with a dining set. From here you have great sea views, even though they are partial. 

 

The Kitchen and a WC is also located on the top floor. There has been no expense spared for the quality of the furniture and the lounge is very comfortable and can seat 7 people easily. You also have two ample dining tables on this floor for dining inside or outside easily – and within a few steps of the large kitchen.

 

On a secondary balcony on the top floor you have a few more sun loungers to use.

 

In the lounge you have a TV, DVD player and CD player and the owner expects the apartment to benefit from free Wi-Fi and satellite TV in time. Please check with us as to whether this is activated in time for your holiday.

 

Just 50 metres from the apartment there are 2 shared pools for guests to use that enjoy spectacular sea views from this elevated position. A child pool that is great for small children and a larger pool. There is also a small child playground for the kids.

 

In a separate part of the complex there is also a pretty grassed area and covered entertaining space with in-built Barbeque. This is a communal facility.

 

A car is recommended as unless you would like to stay put you could make the most of the great locations you are right in between, that of Sao Martinho Do Porto and Nazare. Both about 5kms away. See the exact location on the map illustrated.

 

You can walk from the complex to a couple of restaurants and a café plus a bakery which is just 500 metres away but for more choice you would need to drive to either town.

 

The nearest beach is Salgado and you can walk to the beach (3 km). In the summer the lifeguards will determine whether it’s safe to bathe in this beach but generally the rule is not to as the currents are very strong so only bathe there if the lifeguards are present and in between the flags. The beach attracts those that want to sunbathe in peace and quiet as the beach is less suitable for children. Sao Martinho Do Porto has a very safe beach as it is an almost completely enclosed bay, plus you can reach this beach easily by car.

 

This property and area is highly recommended for discerning guests who require quality, comfort and quiet in beautiful surroundings.

How to get there

Flying to Lisbon Airport is recommended as it is only an hour and twenty mins from the property. It is an easy drive along the A8. Just hire a car from the airport.

 

The best way of getting to the property without a car is to get a taxi to Lisbon’s Sete Rios coach terminal (approx 11 Euros). From there you will be able to get a coach direct to Nazare. You can find out coach times and book tickets at www.rede-expressos.pt  

A taxi one way will cost 100 Euros typically.

 

You can then pick up a taxi from Nazare to the property. 

 

Alternatively you can fly to Oporto (2.5 hour drive) or Faro (3.5 hour drive).

 

About the area

The property is very close to both Nazare and Sao Martinho Do Porto.

 

Nazare is an very charming, traditional Portuguese seaside town with a population of approximately 13,000.  Historically the key form of income for the town was the fishing industry, an industry that is very much present to this day as visitors will see by the numerous lines of fish sun-drying along the beach. 

 

Today tourism is undoubtedly the key industry in Nazare. Given the huge expanses of beautiful beaches and the picturesque cliff-line views, it certainly comes as no surprise that Nazare has such a massive appeal. On the back of the thriving tourist industry a vast number of cafes, bars and restaurants have emerged throughout the town. With numerous restaurants along the sea front, visitors can dine on some fantastic fresh seafood and enjoy the magnificent views.

 

Adding to its appeal, Nazare is town with a firm grip on tradition. Strolling along the maze of beautiful cobbled streets that form the heart of the town, visitors will see a number of the local ladies dressed in traditional costume – black bouffant skirts over as many as seven petticoats. On occasions the local fishermen also wear their traditional costume, checked trousers matched with a checked shirts of a different design.

 

The Portugal Silver Coast is an area abundant with culture, history and outstanding natural beauty. The climate is idilic with approximately 300 days of sunshine per year. Temperatures are typically high but moderated by pleasant sea breezes from the Atlantic.

 

Below are some suggestions for a day out on the Silver Coast:  

 

13th century walled medieval town of Obidos - 25 mins drive. 

 

Obidos Lagoon - beautiful lagoon & nature reserve with safe bathing - 25 mins drive. 

 

The bay of Sao Martinho do Porto - stunning shell-shaped bay with sheltered bathing - 15 mins drive. 

 

Foz do Arelho beach - 25 mins drive. 

 

Caldas Da Rainha (spa town) - 25 mins drive. 

 

Alcabaca Cathedral City- 20 mins drive. 

 

Praia Del Rey - (famous golf course) 45 mins. 

 

Leira - large town - 20 mins drive great for shopping but also very pretty old part and castle. 

 

Berlenga Island (Nature reserve) - 10 Kilometres boat trip from Peniche ( 40 mins drive ). The Island is famed for its native wildlife and diving.
